The first thing I had to do was to find a background that I wanted for my poster and also to link into the genre. So I chose a red background with scratch marks over it to link in with the main story line of my film. I chose 4 different fonts in different colours so I could choose which one I preferred the most. Each of these fonts I chose were found on DaFont. I added the age rated 15 sign onto the layer as well. All of the things I placed on my poster are all on different layers so that I can select individual things instead of the whole of it.
After choosing the font I actually wanted for the title of the film, I added effects over it to make it stand out more. For example, I added a thin shadow around the lettering and a dark black outline. I added names of a few of the people who would be appearing in the film. I made the second name of these people larger than their first name to make it professional. With the rated 15 sign, I rearranged it, swapping it the to other side of the poster.
The next stages I went through were adding a credits bar, making sure that the readability of it was simple and easy. To make this stand out more, I added a gradient fill over it. This added a dark effect around it. With my tagline on the poster, I followed the steps that I did when I added the effect to my film poster title. This made it much more easy to read and more professional. On other posters I looked at, they all have a company name on it. So I added the Hyde Clarendon logo onto it.

The last steps I went through were adding my main image. I had to firstly take the picture of the main character in my film. After importing it onto Photoshop, I had to use the magnetic lasso tool to cut the image out. When I got the image into the place I want it to be, I changed the brightness and the contrast on the image to make it look more realistic. With the paint brush tool, I made the characters eyes red to make her look possessed due to my film being based around this. I also added a dark bold outline around the image to make it stand out much more.

In this screenshot, I have shown the layer bar. In this you can see how each of the piece of writing/images are all on separate layers.
